Kaitlyn King joined two local author friends for a festive Christmas in July Craft Fair, celebrating clean, cozy, and faith-friendly reads with a cheerful book booth full of holiday sparkle.
Her Nutcracker-inspired YA fantasy, Battle for the Land of Sweets, was a featured title—perfect for readers looking to experience a magical winter adventure even in the middle of summer. With themed decorations, peppermint bookmarks, and sweet conversations with local readers, the event was a joyful success.

Local Author Event & Literary Showcase
Pen in Hand Publishing was proud to participate in Authorpalooza, hosted by the Idaho Falls Public Library. The event brought together local authors for a day of workshops, panel discussions, and reader engagement. Pen in Hand’s featured author, Kaitlyn King, was honored to speak on an author panel, sharing insights into her writing process and the inspiration behind her YA Christian fantasy series. We extend our sincere thanks to the library staff, volunteers, and attendees who made this celebration of local literature such a memorable experience.
We were delighted to debut our new booth concept, The Cozy Book Café, at the Market at 350 College Street. Designed to reflect the warmth and charm of a book lover’s haven, this setup featured a curated selection of titles, exclusive editions, and reader-focused displays. The event offered a valuable opportunity to engage with the local community and introduce our stories in a relaxed, welcoming environment. We look forward to continuing this new chapter at future markets and fairs.

I was able to tell new readers all about how my many years of dancing in the Nutcracker inspired the story.
